Great location. Problem is we requested early check in (12pm) and were told it’d b an hour or 2. We eventually got in at 4pm which is their stated check in. We understand that they have a lot rooms to clean but if they set a realistic expectation of 4pm it would have been much easier for us to plan. I felt like we were getting lip service instead of honest answers. Valet and baggage were great. I’m Gold Elite and would not stay at the Lindy again.

Hugely overrated, bad value for the money. Titanium elite lifetime membership got me a small dark standard room where the shower head fell off mid shower narrowly missing my foot. Bed linens are atrocious wafer thin top sheet, lightweight comforter leaves you freezing at night. Lobby furniture full of nasty stains. No club lounge. No sit down breakfast with waiter service, you eat in a small crammed area which is very overcrowded. Oh, let’s not forget the $51 per day charge to park, where the app pops up and gleefully reminds you to tip the valet another $10. Lower the ridiculously high parking rate & maybe guests can afford to be more generous with tips. Last but not least, fire alarm went off 9 am forcing everyone to flee their rooms plus only 1 elevator working. Positives are central location to heart of Charleston, housekeeping staff, breakfast staff and valets. As a titanium elite, I have stayed in hundreds of Bonvoy properties across the world, and this ranks as one of the worst. How it has received a four star rating is completely beyond me.

Great location, not great hotel in terms of service or reliability to what you booked. In short, this was an important vacation event for my daughter and I so I booked an upgraded balcony suite/room over a month in advance (and it was not cheap). I did this to make the trip special and it was confirmed. When I got there, I was sent to a handicapped room which covered all handicaps (meaning set up for deaf, blind and disabled). Needless to say I did not book such a room (it did not match any of the photos of the room I booked (False advertising for sure and misleading !!!)) and it was not the room advertised or what was confirmed (bait and switch). I just did not want to stay in a room with no tub, super low counters and beds about 1 foot off the floor as this is not what I was confirmed. When I went back to the front desk to say I was sent to a handicapped room they told me all other balcony rooms were occupied so it was this or a basic room. Why not tell me this when I checked in instead of making me go all the way up to the room with 7 bags and then back down. I asked if they assigned me this room when I booked as I got no notice and they said sometimes we need to put people there so we just do without a heads up ? Anyway, the only room they had left was a small room with no view and they gave me the rate as it I booked that day (which was high) and not the rate for that room when I booked mine (So I overpaid). The staff did not seem to care at all as they were sold out, so why would they I guess. I just thought they should not confirm a regular room and then force me into a handicapped room or nothing (which I would have got if they did not say how lucky I was to get the small room at the highest rate. What is the point of booking in advance with this hotel. Nice location, but there are many others in that location that have nice rooms also (especially for the price I ended up paying). Oh, forgot the only self park option is a high priced garage with spaces for prius sized cars only (which is why I just didn't go to another hotel as it took me a half hour to find a spot and then park my truck in .. Never again for this hotel for me, but if you reserve a nice room be sure to keep calling every day leading up to your arrival to be sure they do not assume you will be okay with what you did not reserve. Lastly, I guess Marriott gold for life is kind of meaningless at this place as they did not care at all.
