The Mercer

Conveniently located, comfortable hotel just a few minutes walk from Hong Kong station if you're coming into town from the airport. Rooms are relatively large and nicely appointed with a work desk, fridge and kettle with a small selection of tea and coffee samples. There's no bottled water but there's a 7/11 just a minute's walk from the foyer.

Room was clean and well kept. Very spacious for a hotel in this area, and also very convenient if you like to pop out for a walk along the streets to explore the city. The area also felt safe.

We might have been unlucky, but it was pretty negative experience for a “mid-range” hotel: - Was stuck in a handicapped room, so we had to bend down to use everything in the bathroom + no counter or mirror above sink - The AC broke for one night, so we slept in almost 80F temperatures - The low battery notification on the fire alarm woke us up at 6AM - The floors were not really clean/cleaned, something gross was stuck on our bathroom floor - The body wash ran out by the last day since it wasn’t proactively refilled - Our key cards were prematurely deactivated several hours ahead of our check out time - Generally mediocre service from the front desk - no mini fridge; also charges for slippers, comb, toothbrush, etc FYI
