The Resident Liverpool

Hotel was in great location but remained silent at night which was a the main thing we were looking for as we had to move accommodation half way through our trip due to noise pollution and getting absolutely no sleep from our first booking as it was in a similar area but only had single glazing. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We were advised to book directly through their website which worked out around £60 cheaper for two nights than through booking.com. Rooms were simple but fresh and clean with everything you would need. We would book here again in a heartbeat.

Perfect stay. A very reasonably priced upgrade brought us a junior suite with very welcome air conditioning, a huge bed, small kitchenette. Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Couldnt be better.

tldr: beautifully styled hotel with welcoming and helpful staff, right in the middle of the party district, so not all the bass beats (until 4am!) from the nearby clubs on Friday and Saturday night were kept out by the soundproofing. Location: A beautiful makeover of an old building, in Liverpool’s party area. Within walking distance of lots of touristy places like the cathedrals, Albert Dock etc. First Impressions: Very smart and modern. Quiet. No bars or restaurants on site but has deals with local venues for discounts. Checking in: Quick, welcoming and helpful reception staff The Room: A very nice room with interesting period features, included a kitchenette and a view of Liverpool Cathedral. However, the room we were in was next to noisy bars and despite clearly phenomenal soundproofing, this was not enough to keep out the deep bass beats from the clubs nearby which went on until 4am. If you’re in town to party, this is obviously not a problem but, if not, pack your earplugs for a weekend stay. (I appreciate that this may not apply to all rooms in the hotel). Corridors were quiet at all times. Check out: Quick and efficient although staff seemed a little surprised when we mentioned the noise. Verdict: Location, location, location. Great hotel but PSA for people like us who don’t know Liverpool well this is right in the heart of the action at weekends
