I was there with my husband and son quite a few years ago. Great experience. All the guests dining together at Christmas was so spirited and fun. Each guest gifted with a charming piece of sculpture made by locals. We received a hippo in a pond carved by hand of stone. Small and charming. And it’s in my living room right now! Going to bed and waking to the snorting hippos in the river and the hornbills in the trees right outside our villa. Such great memories. Sorry to see the hotel closed last year. Hope it reopens.
Absolutely amazing. Our experience at The River Club was nothing short of superlative! The location is breathtaking. The lodge and rooms were incredible, spacious and comfortable. The food was better than many Michelin-starred restaurants. And the management and staff were impeccably gracious and welcoming throughout our stay. I cannot imagine giving this place less than 5 stars — and would give it 6 stars if I could!
Elegant inn from days gone by. Wish we could have stayed more than one night. Lots of historical pictures and books that I would've liked to read but not enough time. Very romantic cottages with amazing views of the Zambezi River. I would definitely stay there again.
