Peaceful Retreat Surrounded by Nature I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sanctuary hotel, and I must say it was a truly relaxing experience. The environment is serene and peaceful — perfect for anyone looking to escape the noise and stress of the city. One of the things that stood out the most was how quiet the surroundings were. Whether you're lounging outside or resting in your room, there's a calming stillness that makes it easy to unwind. The natural setting is beautiful, with greenery all around and fresh air that adds to the sense of tranquility. The staff were welcoming and respectful of the peaceful atmosphere, which I really appreciated. If you're someone who enjoys nature and values a quiet, rejuvenating stay, I highly recommend Sanctuary hotel. It’s a hidden gem for nature lovers and anyone in need of a peaceful environment.

Where to even start? My stay at Sanctuary Hotel was exactly what the name promises: an actual sanctuary in the middle of Port Moresby! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with the most genuine and welcoming staff a guest could ask for, coming all the way from New York City! My room was perfect, cozy, and well-equipped with all the essentials, and the decor kept a warm and natural feel that matched the environment. The staff was amazing beyond words, incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile! Papua New Guinean hospitality at its finest! The food at the restaurant was also a highlight! I got to taste some amazing local food with fresh ingredients, generous portions, flavors that made each meal feel like a home-cooked experience! Sanctuary Hotel is perfect if you’re looking for a homey peaceful place to land while exploring Port Moresby. It’s ideal for travelers who want comfort, nature, and local authenticity all in one place. I left feeling rested, cared for, and grateful!!!!

I stayed here for five nights and have a few mixed opinions on the premises but on the whole the five days was quite reasonable. My room was quite nice, but I had an issue in that was not serviced for three days. When it was brought to the attention of Management, they fixed it but it does indicate some level of management breakdown that this could happen. The staff here are very friendly and always very keen to help. It has a reasonable menu mainly focused on local food but it has sufficient western food to make it reasonable for a short stay The location is very quiet but that also means that it’s a little remote so apart from going out with the shuttle service if you do not have transport then there is no way safely to go locally. That may or may not be a problem for you and your travel. Anyway most people don’t walk around Moresby.
