We stayed in the family room as our last night or our way to the airport. The room was clean and they were able to prepare a breakfast pack for us as we had an early flight. Unfortunately the hotel is located in a narrow alleyway, so ensure your luggage is portable. It’s also conveniently located and close to Fordhani night market . The rooftop restaurant is to die for

We had an excellent experience and the hotel was very nicely decorated, clean and very well located. The staff were lovely and very helpful. As echoed in other reviews, we received a different room to the one we booked, however the room was lovely and I think the issue stems from booking.com rather than the hotel themselves, so it may be better to book directly to ensure that you get the room you want. Overall a great experience, I would definitely recommend staying here.

For a hotel in the middle of stone town, it probably isn't too bad. BUT there are many things that could be improved Check in was the most unenthusiastic experience at a hotel in Tanzania. It was like they couldn't be bothered. First night in the restaurant and bar they had a very limited menu, and zero beer. This improved the next night, but still felt a little forgotten about. Our room was noisy (right beneath the kitchen....who enjoyed dropping things on the floor early in the morning!). The towels were way past their best (frayed around the edges). Half of the lights in the room didn't work, and those that did were using European plugs in a UK socket. Talking of health and safety, there was work going on in the hotel each day we were there. Fine, it needs doing. But bare wires from a power drill into a plug socket, cables trailing all over the place etc. Overall the hotel didn't feel ready to open for the season. It was run down and in need of some TLC
