We had the pleasure of staying at Botlierskop The Village lodge for a two-day safari within Botlierskop Private Game Reserve. Our guide, Anya, made our experience truly unforgettable. From day one, Anya impressed us with her professionalism, genuine warmth, and deep passion for wildlife. She shared her knowledge with enthusiasm and clarity, turning every safari moment into an engaging and educational experience. What stood out most was her inclusive approach: many members of our group were not fluent in English, yet Anya patiently simplified her explanations and made sure everyone—regardless of language—felt included and understood. Her thoughtful nature and dedication elevated our entire journey. She went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. We highly recommend visiting Botlierskop and staying at The Village Lodge, especially if you’re fortunate enough to have Anya as your guide.
This is a great option to stay. The Village is the child-friendly part of the park, which means there are play facilities and in general you see more kids around the restaurant area as well. Everything is set-up a spacious so you can walk around a bit, and a part of the swimming pool is heated, which is perfect for in the winter. You get a dedicated game driver, in our case this was Jared who did an excellent job with the game drives. Rooms and service are amazing, the only downside is that if you have an appartment with neighbours above you, it can be quite noisy especially since the game drives depart very early and can return very late.
A beautiful place and a wonderful adventure. They have different types of rooms to enjoy the living in a forest. The staff very friendly, the food so tasty all thanks to the chef’s, will miss my ribeye steak- so juicy and tender meat. And at last thanx for Mr Johndre, our ranger who made our game drive adventurous and filled us with so much of info on the animals, their behaviors liking and disliking.
