Torel Royal Court

Really nice hotel, well located, and very nice service - especially the hotel manager Tania is incredibly nice and service oriented. The hotel is dog friendly and has nice breakfast and nice outdoor area with pool. Some renovations are still undergoing (gym and wellness is being build) so be mindful and check with the reception if this is important to you. I liked that every room has direct outdoor access to the pool.

Stylish and Comfortable Stay Torel Royal Court is a beautifully restored historic palacete in the center of Guimarães, full of charm and character. We stayed in the Shanghai room, which was very spacious, with a large and elegant black-and-white bathroom. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the complimentary welcome drink was a lovely touch. The garden with a small pool was especially appreciated on the hot day we were there. The hotel strikes a great balance between historical style and modern comfort. Given the quality of the experience, the value for money was outstanding. There are a few minor points to consider. The breakfast was decent, everything you'd expect was available, but it didn’t particularly stand out. Due to the limited size of the breakfast area, guests are required to book a time slot in advance. No problem for me, but some might feel it takes away from the relaxed, carefree feeling of being on holiday. The garden space is also quite limited. With 14 rooms (soon expanding to 18), there’s only space for 4 or 5 couples to lounge by the pool, which may become uncomfortable on warm summer days when it might get busy by the pool. During our stay, a city festival brought loud music lasting well into the night. While this was beyond the hotel’s control, it would have been thoughtful if they had done something for the guests — such as informing us in advance, providing earplugs, or leaving a small extra in the room. Especially since the hotel was aware of the event, a gesture like that would have reflected true hospitality. All in all, Torel Royal Court offers elegance, comfort, and a touch of luxury in a historic setting with just a few service details that could be improved to fully match its royal promise.

Incredible hotel! Starting from the staff Tania, Soraya and Luis have made the stay like being home. Their hospitality, recommendations and how they run the place has made it amazing! The hotel rooms and overall facilities are very nice, some improvements are ongoing, that will look amazing!
