We are only on day 2 of our 5 day stay and already never want to leave. This place is a unique paradise. A large home for 2 people that is very well-stocked, comfortable furniture, and an expensive yard that stretches to the ocean with multiple private pocket beaches for you to choose from. I can't even describe how peaceful and beautiful it is here. The beach is full of tiny hermit crabs and butterflies. The night sky is breathtaking. You can view the sunset from the property with no one else around. Water is crystal clear and always around 29C. I could go on and on. The host, Susan, is lovely as well and a great communicator. Always willing to help and answer questions. Absolutely worth the many many hours on planes and trains.
I stayed at GW. The facilities were very clean and sophisticated, and had a charm that made me not want to go out. Eating out in Okinawa is often fried and salty, which can make your stomach feel heavy during a long stay, so I cook for myself in the mornings and evenings, so IH and a dishwasher were very helpful. However, it was an unexpected expense as there were almost no seasonings such as oil or soy sauce, and the prices were almost 1.5 times higher than in Honshu. Also, although it can't be helped because the environment is full of nature, there were dead insects in the coffee maker and gecko droppings on the books. Unfortunately, we weren't lucky with the weather, but the owner called out to us and told us that there were fireflies. He was a very hospitable person who lent me a boat so I could go canoeing if it was raining lightly. On a cloudy day, I connected with a friend who is a yoga instructor in Tokyo via Zoom and did beach yoga. At the beach, au was out of range, but I could barely connect to docomo. Yoga on the private beach is the best. I would love to visit you again.
