Van Der Valk Avifauna

If you have a car, this is a perfect location. It’s close to other cities and includes a mini zoo in the price—children love it! We will visit again. 4 car chargers were available and works well.

I only took the brunch buffet deal at the restaurant hence I am not sure about the quality of the rooms, but holy guacamole the brunch deal was good. There was a large selection of cold and warm dishes with my favorite cold fish selection. Salad bar was also fresh and great. Things that you'd expect to taste awful (e.g. a croissant) at these type of mass-catering restaurants, were surprisingly good. Desserts look heavenly but all tasted kind of the same (???) For kids there is a lot of fun in getting endless ice cream cones. I especially liked their sushi. Nothing fancy but decent quality. All in all good value for the price!

Slightly off the beaten track, this hotel is perhaps a hidden gem. Dated and on the edge of being run-down, but with acceptable rooms and good beds with high quality linen. It may seem overpriced, but bear in mind that guests have free entry to the bird park that costs 20€ per person. We didn't have breakfast, so I wouldn't know about that. However, there are quite a few grocery stores in the vicinity that will supply whatever you need. Parking is free, that's a plus.
