Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden

Had a great stay at the hotel. Building is still very new, located on the outskirts of Leeuwarden. This gives a calm, relaxed and spacious experience. Very spacious rooms, good service, restaurant serves very good food. Unfortunately no dogs allowed in the hotel...

Had a wonderful weekend stay here. Location: Hotel is on the outskirts of town. But easy drive or bike ride in. Lots of parking available at hotel. Close to 2 major roads, but we found it very quiet regardless. Reception: Friendly and helpful. My only suggestion might be to have them indicate where breakfast was, hours, and any other pertinent info that might be helpful to new guests. It was not busy when we checked in. Room: Large, clean, spacious room with very large comfy bed and big balcony. We appreciated the refrigerator, the big doors that opened onto balcony and the extra couch to relax upon. Large bathroom with lots of hot water, good water pressure. Large walk in shower and beautiful tub. It was extremely quiet! The only sound we heard was the sound of a hottub motor above us for a brief while in the evening. But it was faint and did not disturb us. Restaurant: We ate both dinner and breakfast at hotel and also had drinks in bar/lounge. Dinner was great, service was excellent. Lots of food at a reasonable price point. Special shout out to our lovely fellow Canadian server who came over to say hello ❤️ Breakfast buffet was one of the best I have had in a long time. Lots of variety and plentiful, fresh portions. The bar/lounge had a nice, dark, quiet vibe we quite enjoyed. Mother Nature did not look favourably upon us. But we managed to have a great, relaxing weekend and we will definitely return.

Very modern and stylish interior, friendly staff and excellent restaurant. Lots of parking, since it is a bit outside the city. The rooms are very spacious with a toilet separated from the bathroom. The bathroom itself has a bathtub and a very spacious shower booth. I'll definitely come back.
