A very nice hotel. Is close (walking distance 5 minutes) to the mall if you want to shop and, on the other side, is close to pubs/restaurants. Is also very close to the metro station as well. Also, there are mini-market and few other business in the same structure. There is a small gym and a nice swimming pool. The view is anonymous but is a great spot for various amenities.
A lovely hotel, slightly dated decor in the room, but lovely and immaculately clean, comfortable beds, and a large room and decent sized bathroom. Staff are wonderful, dining room, reception and managers, without exception. Thank you for a lovely couple of days. The breakfasts were outstanding, the amazing variety, the freshness, just wonderful - thank you. (Note, there was no "hard sell" of the breakfast to us, just a mention, prices and when we could book prior if we wished. )
Older hotel located in historic and trendy Katong area, with plenty of restaurants and hawker centres nearby. For convenience there is a large supermarket, a bakery and a popular Italian restaurant downstairs. There is also a reliable laundry shop on the first floor as well. The hotel has a nice and comfortable Peranakan feel with older but well maintained rooms. Checked in 4.30pm 26/7, the front desk staff Nisa was attentive and helpful but the room assigned was not made up and cleaned when we went in. Tried to contact the reception but the phone was not working and then tried to message them using their messaging app but they took 30 minutes to reply. The room assigned also had no bed head or the single and double sofa and coffee table, as depicted jn the Trip website photos when i booked. Finally went down to the reception and was changed to a larger family room. Here the lights and phone worked well but the air con switch emitted an intermittent buzzing sound, which went away when I adjusted the temperature but came back after a while. The Breakfast at Nyonya and Gentleman was uninspiring and mediocre. Despite being a Nyonya inspired hotel and in a peranakan area did not have any nasi lemak or laksa or any Nyonya desserts and kuih. Would have been easier to cater from the numerous restaurants and hawkers to provide these. The food when we attended at 7am was luke warm and the dim sum was cold, i had to ask the lady to turn up the temperature. The breakfast spread is small and consisted of several stations including: coffee, tea and juices, bread, egg, Porridge, Continental and english, Chinese ‚Japanese and Salad stations. The only Nyonya food i could find here was the fried laksa but it was just luke warm. Ended up having just fruits and kaya toast with fruit. I would suggest having breakfast outside
