VOI Praia de Chaves Resort

We really loved our stay here. Children loved both the pool and the ocean with waves. Our 11 year old preferred to go into the ocean with swimming buoy. Kids under 130 cm will have hard time if they cannot swim. The ocean is not good for longer technical swimming. Just bouncing on waves and surfing. It was alright though. We didn’t have single issue with the hotel.

Awesome experience. Very very nice hotel a 5 star to Cape Verde (not a 5star on Punta Cana/Cancun to be honest). Employee sympathy second to none especially at the different bars. Hotel animation team was great. Huge variety of high quality foods. Praia de Chaves beach AMAZING (don't be afraid of the constant waves.. Very weak and they break when it's knee level deep). Kind of windy but that's great to make the hot weather more bearable. July/2025 We highly recommend.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were old and smelled like mould. The breakfast was cold every day, and the food was tasteless and looked like it had been sitting out for hours. But the worst part was how the staff treated me. As a person of colour, I was ignored many times at the bar while other people who came after me were served first. When I asked a simple question about the pool, a staff member said, "Maybe it’s different where you're from," and laughed. It was very rude and made me feel very uncomfortable. When I complained to the manager, they didn’t care at all. I felt like they just wanted me to leave. This hotel is not what it says it is. The service is bad, the food is bad, and if you are not treated equally, it ruins your whole holiday. I left early and will never come back. Stay away from this place.
