Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club

I came here for a wedding reception, and upon arrival, first impressions were astounding. The views and buildings were beautiful. Checking in was an easy and quick process, however, we were told that due to power cut earlier in the week, the key cards weren't working so we would have to ask to be let into our room each time we needed to which was quite inconvenient. The room was clean and well equipped with tea, coffee, etc. It was incredibly hot and stuffy due to being south facing, but there was a fan inside the wardrobe to help. There was an iron and board (not the best and burnt my outfit even on a low setting). The tv was connected to the Internet and provided a much better range of viewing than most hotels with the bog standard free view channels! Arriving at the venue, the view was incredible, and the setting was beautiful! The bar didn't have the best range of drinks, and the Guinness was unavailable due to a gas issue, which is a very popular drink within the group of attendees. The bar ran out of ice and lemon also. The ordering from the bar was confusing as orders were only taken from the till point, which meant the entire bar was unmanned and useless. I can't comment on the food as I didn't partake. Overall, the hotel is absolutely stunning and would be given a much better rating if they had the ability to rectify issues faster!

Dated but very lovely. Rooms are nice and spacious and well equipped with everything you need. Beds are comfortable. However, we were quite bemused with the layout, having been allocated a room overlooking the internal dining area. As such the window is non opening and you are aware of the need for privacy. However, it didn't put us off and we slept well. Customer service was excellent and we found all staff to be friendly and attentive (bar one lady in the clubhouse who decided she didn't want to serve us for reasons only known to her!) We would book again if back in the area.

Absolutely lovely hotel. OMG, the shower! So hot and powerful such a nice experience compared to other hotels. Spa is lovely. Had a really nice meal in the clubhouse. The only reason the hotel didn't get 5* is the restaurant. There is nothing wrong but nothing spectacular, which is disappointing for such a lovely hotel.
