Zonk Hotel Hakata

Would definitely stay again. The shower pressure was nice, wifi was fast, and the room was spacious. It’s nice guest can use their gym I just wish you can use the gym earlier than 9am. They offer complimentary coffee at the lounge area. I really like the openness of the hallway and the outside sitting area, the hotel has a different architecture than your ordinary Japanese hotels. Few downsides are the sound which was not a big deal but noise can come in from the gap under the door. And when you open the shower door the steams escapes and the room quickly gets wet and damp (mirrors & floor). Lastly, the bathroom doors could use a little bit of cleaning as I saw dried stains (I was hoping it wasn’t urine, makes me think what kind of guest stayed there previously)

Overall I agree with lot of the reviews, it is one of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever stayed on. The first room they gave us, it even had an accessory hair from the guest before. They changed our room, the second one was good , but still with stains all over the bathroom floor and dust everywhere, smells all the time and yes, room was cold. Worse part of all the accessory of the first room I found it next day right outside the elevator lol. like other reviews, it makes you wonder if they changed our room sheets at all. Don’t book this hotel, definitely not worth it, Only two good things, beer at reception and location

Worst experience so far of a month of travel. Arriving with lots of luggage they want 550 yen PER LUGGAGE PIECE just to store it for 2 hours before CHECKIN. Never had such a dumb rule in any of the hotels we went to so far. Ridiculous..... Breakfast is a few kelloggs and a filter coffee. Absolute joke
