Hotel Maggior Consiglio

Well we read the reviews and could not agree with the negative comments. It was excellent! The room, the white linen and towels, all good quality and a good bright white. The breakfast had ample choices, including smoked salmon, yum. The lady on reception was extremely knowledgeable re the hotel and our questions. There was no charge to use the pool - except you do need a swimming cap. Location was a 5 min bus ride for €2 into the centre. (Tickets from a tobacconist, otherwise the cost is €4 cash on the bus). AirCon great, we rang down to reception to get the temp reduced to 19° and it was altered for us straight away. Free bottled water in the room. 16Jun25

The room was very clean but dominated by a large sideboard/desk which made it feel small. The appearance was dated. The Air con was set at 24 degrees when I arrived so room was hot. When I asked at reception they adjusted the temperature from there and after some hours the room cooled a bit. The Shower kept changing from warm to cold, not just in my room as colleagues experienced the same thing. The more expensive rooms looked a better layout. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and would definitely recommend eating anywhere else as food was below average. Breakfast was also a disappointment. I would stay again but hopefully there's better in the area. Found a great steak restaurant 10 mins walk away Hostaria Vecia Frescada, that was the highlight of the trip.

Poor value for many. Dated rooms, not soundproof to the level you feel like someone is talking in your room while a new guest is checking in the lobby one floor down. Stayed in several rooms and the problem is the same - noise makes it almost impossible to sleep. Bed linen and towels are spotted (blood??). Bathrooms in both rooms were flooded after short shower. Gym and pool has a wired access schedule for hotel guests what makes it inaccessible for many. There is a bar but never a barman there while crowd of employees at the reception across the hall shouting “You wait!” Have tried to have drink while waiting on several occasions but still now one after 10-15 min. Did not dare to try pizzeria as the customers who were already inside clearly looked annoyed by the slow service. Dated and mismanaged property. Will avoid in future. There are too many nice options in Treviso area to waste money on this place.
