Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei

I don’t have enough good words to describe how incredible this hotel was! My husband and I spent our honeymoon traveling throughout Japan, and during our 5 days in Kyoto, this place was an absolute dream. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we felt a sense of calm. The hotel is beautifully serene, and the staff went above and beyond—so kind and accommodating. They even surprised us with a room upgrade for our honeymoon, which made the experience even more special. Our room overlooked the garden, and waking up each morning felt like being at a spa. I told my husband this was my favorite hotel we’ve ever stayed at—and that says a lot, because we travel often. The room was spotless, modern with just the right touch of traditional charm. It truly was the perfect getaway. Thank you for such a warm and unforgettable stay!

This hotel is a delight. The room is spacious and immaculate. There's a modern yet zen atmosphere and the hotel is adjacent to a shrine, so there's a peaceful element. The rooms that face the street get some noise during the day, but by 10pm or so the neighborhood quiets down. From 3-6pm is a relaxed happy hour with free wine but no snacks. No bathing facilities or sauna at the hotel. But still it's a gem

The hotel is very convenient to visit temples and museums also to stroll in the neighborhood. Nice modern architecture and zen garden that leads to the small temple next door invites to relax and meditate in a calm place in a busy city. Efficient and kind service , spacious rooms and very colorful and healthy breakfast .
