City Express Suites by Marriott Cancún Aeropuerto Riviera

A bit oldish hotel. Service seems good and breakfast as well was fine Mex-style breakfasr. My biggest problem was the smell, and I'm not usually sensitive to smell. Reception was quite smelly (like experiencing past when cheap smells were appreciated.) The room (304) smells like a sewer, even after I tried to let water. Gladly staying only one night, because I start to feel sick. Maybe some rooms are better?

DO NOT BOOK HOTEL- SCAM SCAM SCAM. Worse hotel ever, they promised me they would pick me up at the airport, waited 2h at the CUN airport, and shuttle never came, I had to open my data to call them, they never answered, ended up booking from taxi mafia for 110 USD for 10 minutes. Talked to manager and he only said sorry and couldn’t do anything to refund me … said to messaged booking.com for refund and they would accept, however obviously never accepted and paid way toooooo much for not even a 12hr stay. - breakfast has no options - cleaning lady knocks on your door to know what time you are leaving. - pool not able to swim in, they removed the water and says its filling day everyday. - staff doesnt give a damn about your concerns and needs. - staff uses google translate to communicate - staff are not reachable via WhatsApp after you book, or arrange your ride, they go MIA.

Spent the final night of our vacation here. Very clean. New rooms. Breakfast was meh. Not great at refilling food, not much for choice unless you only like Mexican style. No coffee. Some people got menus and some did not. Told to have instant coffee. Beds are hard, air conditioner couldn’t go lower than 20C and shut off every 45 mins. Not the most pleasant staff either. Not much for TV channels. Would not recommend. We were booked at the Avani and they “lost” the reservation and sent us here so it was not our choice in the first place. Only plus is it’s close to the mall where you can buy real food! Do not waste your money. Do not stay here!!!
