As a long-time Hilton Diamond member traveling worldwide for over 14 years, I highly recommend this hotel! Recognizing it isn't in the heart of San Miguel Allende, which is obvious to anyone that can Google, it is still conveniently close to a plaza that has a Liverpool, movie theater and other places to eat within walking distance if you're willing to trek down a cobblestone path. It is super easy to get into town if you are driving, taking you right to Hwy 111 that takes you right to the city center in 12-14 minutes - a super easy drive with no steep grades and even has an overlook to get a spectacular view of San Miguel de Allende. There is even free parking at the hotel!! The style of the hotel is fabulous - brick and stone with incredible views. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and super comfortable. Breakfast was complimentary as a Diamond member and was absolutely delicious with fresh fruit and juice, the best coffee, and overall tasty. The best of everything is the service. From check-in to breakfast, everyone has been super friendly, helpful, and personable. I would recommend to anyone that considers themselves a world traveler, or even if you aren't but are someone that appreciates other cultures, to disregard any of those bad reviews. It's ridiculous to me that so many come to a foreign country and expect things to be like they are at home. If you don't like it, stay home. The staff and anyone else around are better off without you here. So if you love to travel and want to have a beautiful experience while visiting San Miguel de Allende, be sure to stay here!
Beautiful hotel and great pool area. Don’t get a room on the bottom floor. Starting at 7 am you can hear the noise upstairs from the dining room. A neighborhood roaster that won’t shut up!
The check-in was seemless and the lady at the front desk was welcoming and friendly. The bartender Mauricio is amazing, professional, friendly and welcoming. The majority of staff do not engage, acknowledge nor go out of their way to show hospitality. The rooms are clean, nicely designed however the walls are very thin and you can hear people's conversations and sounds from the room next to yours. A serious concern is the lack of professionalism, hospitality and respect from most front desk staff members. Upon check-out there were 5 staff members at the front desk, none offered to help with my luggage; from my room to the outside (waiting for my transportation arrival). They literally stood there watching me struggle with the luggage cart going up their ramp (which has no automatic door button) and have the cart roll down the sidewalk to the driveway. The incline in front is terrible for maneuvering a full luggage cart. My luggage literally fell over while trying to maneuver the cart up the incline, as 2 staff members stood and watched, not offering to help. As I picked up my fallen luggage, I looked back at the door and said "ok, dont help me then??" And only then they walked over to help. I was in shock they have zero respect or courtesy for guests. I asked for the hotel managers card and they suddenly couldn't speak English (prior to they would speak to me in English). The girl smiled and laughed when I said it was "que malo" how they stood and watched but refused to help me. I emailed the director of sales bcs they gave me her card and waiting to hear back, yet I doubt they actually care how guests are mistreated. Its shocking how this holds the Hilton name and yet, majority of staff are not welcoming and do not acknowledge nor want any conversation with guests (minus Mauricio the bartender and the lady who checked me in). The hotel had maybe 5 guests checked in during my stay and the hotel was always empty and getting service (for the exception of the bartender) was an extended wait time; which is odd being the hotel was not busy. The location is ok and not far from downtown. The food is average and their espresso machine needs maintenance/ calibration because their pulled shots are extremely weak and they do not care. They have a van for guests yet refuse to offer airport transportation. When asked, three staff members at the front desk look at eachother and someone says "no airport ". The language barrier is being used as an excuse because I used a translator when needed and front desk staff would speak some English. They lack hospitality (for the exception of Mauricio the bartender and 2 front desk staff members), professionalism and friendliness. As a Travel Advisor, I would not recommend or book this hotel for clients. The rooms and property are nice, however service is lacking and they're overstaffed for the amount of guests staying (i was told therr were only 5 rooms booked during my 6 day stay). Management should be able to resolve these issues and take accountability for their lack of service, yet I doubt any resolution will come of this feedback. If their staff members smile and laugh at you when you're upset and have valid concerns that says a lot about the leadership
