Hacienda El Santuario San Miguel de Allende

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL! Hacienda El Santuario is in a perfect location right next to all the things you'll want to see when visiting San Miguel de Allende. The building is an old building converted from a monastery. Everything you'd want to visit (the churches, town squares, incredible restaurants) is only a short walk. I would warn that there is no parking around there, so when you arrive, take a taxi! The room was gorgeous, comfy beds, beautiful architecture, very quaint and well done. I loved that they have coffee pods and water in glass bottles in the room, nice touch! I would highly recommend staying here, it was a lovely experience.

Look for Anil Sekhri review at 1 stars, it is exactly what He describe, plus there is no parking in the property as they say. The kind of place that will try to give you the less they can at every level with an empty hotel. I was moved from a room that was not what I paid for to another even worse, they obviously knowing since my party of 5. Just a matter of actitude. Don't go there for them to try to ruin your stay at Sn Miguel. Front desk service was super bad, a shame for the Bell Boys even "suggesting" the front desk girl how to do a good job, they tried their best.

We had very unpleasant 3 night stay at this hotel. Some good reviews had raised our expectations but the property, staff and service turned out to be a disaster. Website pics don’t match with reality. They have been taken with wide angle lenses to show the rooms bigger. Staff cannot speak English. Communication is almost zero. Restaurant is pathetic, we didn’t eat even once there. One visit to the dining area and glance at other guest place was enough to avoid eating here. There were several issue which I have listed below : 1 It is poor value for money as facilities, comforts and experience are of 2 star hotel with 4 star price. 2. Pictures don’t match with reality. Rooms are much smaller. 3. ⁠Breakfast is very poor but expensive. Just one guy in the kitchen serving food from storage. That’s why they call it English breakfast. 4. ⁠water presssure is low and it takes long time for hot water to flow. Shower also is not enjoyable due to low pressure and delayed hot water. 5. ⁠There is no toilet brush or jet spray . You can not clean the toilet after use. 6. ⁠in the name of art, there is too much clutter and noise. There is no harmony in the aesthetics. I am posting pics of these “artistic” clutter making the ambience noisy and disharmonious. It seems they have collected discarded art pieces from junk yard and put at random. Very poor aesthetics. 7. ⁠we were taken in by different design for different rooms but rooms have lot of din from motley of art occupying precious space which otherwise could have been put to use. Lot of noises come from outside. 8. The housekeeping staff spays some disinfectant on the bedsheets and pillows and rugs making them wet for so long. We found it when we entered the room while she was cleaning the room. I don’t know what chemical it must have been but the bed was wet for at least 2 hours 9. Front desk reception staff does not know English. Communicating with them is difficult. Also they are not trained to be polite and respectful to the guests. 10. ⁠Due to lack of language skills, the staff is of no help for advice on things to do, restaurants etc. This department is absolutely zero in this hotel. For us it was a huge disappointment to stay here. We do not recommend. There are several hotels with better location. After reading about thefts in other guest reviews , we were careful not to leave valuables in the room.
