I forgot my smartphone in the taxi that brought me to the hotel at 23:30. The person at the reception desk was very helpful to locate the taxi driver and call him to find a solution. He confirmed hr found the phonr but unfortunately he finished his shift and was already back home. A super nice bartender from the hotel was also finishing his shift and he proposed to bring me to the house of the taxi driver and then back to the hotel. Remember we are past midnight at this point. I ended up with my phone back to the hotel around 00:30 thanks to him. The next morning, he was tending the breakfast bar. He deserves a medal ! I will certainly be returning to this hotel and I highly recommend it.
This hotel is located in Sandvika, about 15 minutes by train from Oslo. From Sandvika station is about a 10-15 minute walk. It is the main hotel in the city and it's a nice one. The staff were welcoming and kind, the hotel was very clean and the room was comfortable and a great size. The rooms have all the basic amenities that you would expect and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is a buffet that is well above average. There is a large selection of both hot and cold foods, breads, pastries, juices, meats, fruits, vegetables and more. A great option for personal and business travel alike.
I will start with the positive about the hotel first. I like that it’s adjacent to a mall with shopping and food options. The hotel itself also has a good breakfast and the staff was nice. Now I have a few negatives starting with the overall Appearance of this hotel. It’s old and very unappealing from the moment you arrive in the parking lot. Once you get Inside it feels as old and outdated as the outside. The hall to the hotel room is very tacky and ugly. It reminds me of a prison. Inside the room is again outdated and unappealing. The fridge doesn’t work, not sure why they have it in the room to begin with. I also think they could do better about cleaning the room. I had my room cleaned twice and both times the same piece of hair that was inside the fridge as well as on the floor was there after they serviced the room. In my opinion, this room is NOT worth the price
