My wife and me have been there for a Sunday brunch. With a variety of choices from fish, meat, vegetables, salads, fruits and dessert the offer of the buffet a discretion is very rich. The quality of ingredients is fantastic. Sadly most of the dishes were not cooked or seasoned as I expect it from a prestige hotel in Zurich. Chicken and fish dish was dry and overcooked, also the steak tartar to name an example was excellent meat but not seasoned at all. There was also no ingredients on the table or buffet to season the tartar by ourselves. I'd like to highlight the outstanding service team lead by Karyna. Very attentive and always ready to respond to our needs. Unfortunately there was a shift change right at the end of our brunch. So we were not able to leave our compliments to the team as we left. I'd like to end my review with the breathtaking view on the lake of Zurich that we enjoyed during our brunch. Make sure to book your table early and try to request a table with a free view on the city and the lake.
An Unforgettable Stay – 5 Stars Spent two nights in a Junior Suite at The Dolder Grand and was blown away. The view over the historic Dolder building, lake, city, and forest is simply breathtaking. The suite was beautifully designed and spotless. What truly sets The Dolder Grand apart, however, is the service. From concierge to sales staff, everyone was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive to detail. You feel genuinely cared for throughout your stay. Breakfast was a highlight — an amazing variety of delicious, high-quality options. We were even lucky with the weather and got to enjoy the spa outdoors in March — a rare and magical treat. The Dolder Grand isn’t just a hotel — it’s an experience. I can say with confidence that it fully deserves its reputation as one of the best in class. A benchmark in luxury hospitality, and one I’d return to in a heartbeat.
Summary: Did not have a great experience overall and would not stay here again. Did not meet service standards we have experienced at other high-end hotels. Booked two rooms five months ago. Arrived at hotel to be told the only room in our booking class was directly overlooking the entry area, where noise was an issue and second-hand smoke from waiting drivers was noticeable. Told hotel was full and nothing could be done. I cannot say that I felt there was a “Let’s find a way to solve this” attitude that I would expect at a high-end hotel. Had I been informed that the only room available would overlook the entry circle for the hotel, I would not have booked there. We downgraded our room to avoid the noise and smoke. The room on the quieter side of the hotel had a nice view, though we discovered that the road leading to the hotel ran up that side of the hill. So not as quiet as hoped. Interior of the room was nice though. We discovered that guests would smoke on their balconies, and the drafts up the hill would push the smoke smell into your room if you left the door open (or were sitting on your own balcony). I guess not the hotel’s “fault”, but definitely a negative for our experience. Dinner at the restaurant was good, though very expensive, and daily breakfast buffet was a strong effort and a positive highlight. Pool was great. Spa was good. Woods around the hotel had some trails we hiked and saw some cool birds.
