We had a very pleasant stay here. It’s in a great location surrounded by a few bars and pubs. The rooms are large (by London standards) and we found them to be clean and comfortable, if not slightly dated. The reception staff are very friendly as was the bar manager, we found ourselves sitting in the lobby bar every night chatting away and having a few drinks. The breakfast was also very good, full English and continental options were available as well as tea, coffee and juice service to your table. The one thing that marred the whole experience was the breakfast waiting staff, very unfriendly and unhelpful, looked miserable, didn’t want to assist us in anyway, made us feel like a burden.

Rooms were very small but clean. Bathroom modern but had some minor issues such as heavy rust on the shower rail. The door handle to the bathroom was also broken. The TV in the room had poor viewing quality and the free view wasn't available. The breakfast was very good, the dining area and small lounge was delightful. By far the best part of our stay was the staff. Everyone we saw and spoke to were polite, friendly and always smiling. Absolutely flawless customer service all around. They should be very very proud of themselves. Ultimately I would absolutely stay here again in the future.

I stayed here for a weekend in October. The hotel is dated in a tired and sad way. The sofas in the entrance way are worn and stained; I did not even want to sit on them as they did not seem clean. The reception clerks, while friendly, did not know how to properly attend to any questions or requests. Even making a reservation for dinner seemed to be a struggle for them - they instead suggested me to google the place and make it myself (not having a UK sim card, this was not possible). The room I had was clean although dated again. The worst part had to be the mattress, which should have been replaced ten years ago. I had metal coils digging into my sides all night. The girl at the reception desk says she hears complaints every day, and I can see why. However, given that I had to pay upfront before seeing the room, it was impossible to changed afterwards. A positive note would be the location, which is quite central. However, given the price, I would recommend staying elsewhere.
