Belvilla Newport City Centre Hotel Lifestyle

Stayed here for a night with my partner and this hotel was great! Staff were lovely and very helpful, and I had free breakfast included with my room, the room was great, lots of space and very clean, other reviews talk about being able to hear the music from the clubs but we couldn't hear it at all and slept very well. The breakfast was great as well, lots of options and had plenty to eat as a vegetarian. Also great placement, right around the corner from the train station, easy to find and right in the middle of town. I also found the stay to be very affordable.

I booked months ago because I had tickets to see Kendrick Lamar, a week before I was supposed to arrive, they cancelled my room due to a ‘technical fault with the rooms’. This is a blatant lie in an attempt to get more money for the room due to the concert. We know this is true considering rooms conveniently became available again once our room was cancelled. When trying to get through to the hotel you just get sent through to a customer service thing which wasn’t even the actual hotel. Avoid at all costs!!!!

1 Star AVOID AT ALL COSTS – Health Hazard and Nightmare for Families This was hands down the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. I booked this place thinking it was family-friendly, but what we walked into was an absolute disgrace. The room was filthy – thick layers of dust everywhere, including a visible pile of dust next to the beds. Even the bed sheets were covered in dust and felt rough and cheap, like they hadn’t been changed in ages. The beds were horrible, cheap and springy, like sleeping on broken trampolines. Completely uncomfortable. There was zero ventilation – windows couldn’t open, and the air conditioning didn’t work properly. When staff turned it on remotely, it was so weak and just blew dust and stale air around the room. You could actually see dust particles floating in the air under the light – I’ve added pictures to show how bad it was. The effect on my family was immediate. My children’s eyes swelled up, they were coughing, and my 3-year-old got so sick we had to leave the hotel at 2 a.m. with him crying in our arms. It was heartbreaking and traumatic. To make things worse, nightclubs beneath the hotel were blasting music and bass until 4am. It felt like we were trying to sleep inside a speaker. It was impossible to rest. Housekeeping was non-existent – they just emptied bins and left. No cleaning, no fresh sheets, no care whatsoever. This place is unfit for humans, let alone families with kids. I wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me. Do yourself a favour and stay far away from this hotel!
