Hilton Kansas City Country Club Plaza

We had a great quick staycation at the Hilton Plaza! It was nice enjoying the corner suite room and pool! Though we didn’t eat the breakfast room service it seemed like it would have been a hit. Room was clean. Service was spot on and receptive, they even took care to come out to the pool between guests and clean up. We will certainly return!

Pros: Every staff member we encountered was friendly and accommodating. The location is great! Lots of food and shopping options are within walking distance. Cons: 2 of the 4 elevators didn’t work. The hotel was very warm!

We arrived around 7:30 PM and were immediately disappointed by the condition of our room. There was a sticker on the floor left behind by a previous guest, feces in the toilet, and hair on the seat. I went to the front desk to request that they clean the toilet. While we were at the pool, maintenance came by but when we returned around 9:00 PM, the toilet was in the same condition. I went back down to the front desk to follow up. The employee seemed annoyed and told me the hotel was sold out for the night, but that someone would be sent again. While waiting in the room, my son nearly stepped on something that looked like mucus on the floor. I took a photo and returned to the front desk. The employee, again acting irritated, finally offered to switch our room and that it was the last one available, implying there would be no further options if it wasn’t clean either. Fortunately, the second room was reasonably clean. After a long day of travel with a child, the lack of cleanliness and dismissive customer service made for a very frustrating and disappointing experience. This was far below the standard I would expect for any hotel stay
