Holiday Inn Portland By the Bay by IHG

The hotel does exactly what it says on the tin. It is at the top of the hill so the views are amazing of the harbour BUT it also means a little bit of a steep walk back home. They do have a shuttle that you can book for free which is very helpful! To rooms were a bit dated but they are going through a refurb so hopefully all the rooms will get an update. However, they were very clean! Coffee bar and water in the lobby. Excellent staff, very friendly. Comfortable bed. Excellent value for money (or points).

The staff was hospitable. The bed slept very well and there was great.Hot water pressure. Very decent little gym. I would definitely stay here again.

The Holiday Inn in Portland delivers on convenience and friendly service. Our room had a pleasant view of the harbor, which was a nice bonus. The bed was decent—not especially memorable, but comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. The bathroom could use an update, but everything was clean and functional. There’s a parking garage directly underneath the hotel ($20 per night), and the location is a major plus—within easy walking distance of Old Port shops, restaurants, and waterfront sights. All in all, a solid choice if you’re looking for a reliable place to stay in a great spot.
